Porsche Promoting New 911 on Basis of iPhone Connection
October 16, 2008
A special car was being presented today to the press and the public. During the session for press, the new Porsche 911 Targa 4 PDK was introduced. The 911 comes from a proud heritage of flag ship sports cars since the 60s.

The introduction started by mentioning how they kept it in the tradition of the Porsche 911 silhouette, recognizable by almost anyone. They went on to mention that they had also upgraded everything under the skin: lower emissions, fuel efficiency and new PDK clutch, etc. Also they are following in the trend of LED lights, which gives better visuals at day as well as at night.

One of the things that they were highlighting is that the new 911 has got a new interface with touch screen and that its Bluetooth works with the iPhone! This was promoted more than the new gearbox, the new PDK system, and other things. They have also added AUX so you can connect your iPod or almost any other music playing device. A USB port is also there so you can save all your music library to a USB flash drive and feed it directly to the Porsche. This would create music you can run for years. If that is not enough, they have added iPod USB connecting cable, that you can control from your steering wheel.

That’s great to keep yourself entertained, but aren’t they selling one of the most beautiful sound engineered 3.6 liter engines in the world already? Isn’t the saying that the best music in a Porsche is the engine. Just seems strange to me that Porsche, a company so well known for its automobile engineering excellence is promoting their latest care on the basis of it working with an iPhone. Is this a sign that things are finally catching on in Dubai when it comes to technology in cars? I mean like connecting iPods, iPhones and things.
Google Maps Behind in Dubai
September 26, 2008

When I tried the GPS and maps functionality on my iPhone 3G in Dubai recently I noticed the maps are pretty outdated. When driving over the Business Bay crossing from Festival City I found myself in the middle of water according to the iPhone. That was a bit weird. Even if the iPhone would be launched here soon it would be of limited functionality unless these maps are updated.
Magazine Stand for GITEX
September 23, 2008
I’ve been busy today working on the design of a stand for Shufflegazine for GITEX and other events and locations. It has storage from front and back, which should add some better balance to it as it is tall. What do you think?
Cheapest MacBook in Dubai?
September 19, 2008

When visiting the Al Ain Computer Plaza in Dubai the other night I saw what might be the best price for a MacBook in Dubai: AED4390. Also in the store I saw pretty much any other Apple product, all at good prices. It even looks a bit like an Apple store with decorations and displays.
