Podcast setup almost done

As we’ve announced before we’re starting a podcast at Shufflegazine and now I thought I’d just let you know that we’re making good progress. In fact, the basic functionality is in place and we’re hoping to have the first show out this week. There are still a few things to work out but I think we’ll managed that.
The basic setup us this:
- Four Shure SM7b microphones.
- Each mic is connected to a Shure X2u XLR to USB adapter.
- The mics are mounted on K&M arms.
- One four-port powered USB hub.
- Mac with Garageband.
This way, we can record each mic into its own track in Garageband. We’re now looking at getting headphones for all four participants and figure out how to tidy up the cable mess a bit. Then we’re done. So now comes the hard part, producing the actual show.
The mics, adapters and arms are sponsored by NMK Electronics.
