Why we like Apple

This is a question that I asked myself recently. Why Apple? Really, why?
Here in the UAE, as with the rest of the world, we see people adopting the Apple way. Be it with the iPhone or with MacBooks. iPods came and conquered long ago, it is history, but it was a start in many ways.
Human nature in my opinion generally isn’t tuned to taking risks, thinking differently and challenging the status quo. We, however, seem to adore the people who do and have been successful doing it. Rarely do we gather up the strength to do it ourselves. We have excuses and hypothetical reasons why it won’t work.
This is probably why we love Apple. At least that’s why I do. Here’s a company that challenged the status quo and came out successful. I really doubt that I would have done what it takes to build a company like Apple under similar circumstances like Steve Jobs. I would have found my own excuses. I would have laughed myself out of it. Competing with Windows?? Ha!
I know it doesn’t really apply to everyone, but we love to be associated with companies and individuals who lead. People who give us what we want when we want it.
We tend to follow those who pull us out of the past and propel us into the future. Letting us do things the way its supposed to be done.
Apple made it easy for me to convert. They made it easy for me to follow. All their products make sense to have at some level. None of them are really worth ignoring. How many companies make products not worth ignoring?
It didn’t really matter that PCs had an unbeatable market share. All it took for me to switch was a change in perception.
In short, it’s just a matter of time before people realize what they’ve been missing for so long and make a real switch!
