Remotely access your iPhone using Veency

If you have an odd PC setup at home – the desktop connected to a big flat screen meters away with wireless keyboard and mouse – then you’re probably aggravated by the fact that you have to trek that distance every time you get an SMS or want to do something on your iPhone while it recharges through the USB ports.
Or you may want to have other reasons for accessing your iPhone remotely.
The solution comes through a jailbroken iPhone. Veency is an application that runs in the background which allows incoming access connections via WiFi, right from your PC. You need two apps for this to work: Veency on your iPhone and a VNC viewer on your PC or Mac.
First off, head to Cydia and search for “Veency”. Once installed, the springboard will restart and you will notice an absence of an app icon. This is because Veency runs as a background process.
Next, grab a VNC app for your PC and Mac. VNC apps basically allow graphical sharing of desktops across different PCs. I usually use them to access Linux servers but they can be used for pretty much any platform that supports the protocol.
If you’re on the PC you can use UltraVNC, and for the Mac you can get Chicken of the VNC. Make sure you install the “VNC viewer” as thats what you need, unless you wanna access your own PC/Mac from somewhere else you could also install the server.
Once you open the VNC app on your desktop, you get loads of options which you could ignore. Your point of interest is the address/host, and there you will need to enter your iPhone’s WiFi address. You could find that under Settings or if you have SBSettings installed you can get it from there.
After entering the address and clicking connect, your iPhone will ask for authorization. Tap “Accept” and the user interface would be sent over to your desktop. You can now leave your iPhone in peace.
You can do pretty much anything you would do on your iPhone directly, including SMS and the whole lot. A left click is the tap, right clicks is the home button and the middle click locks your iPhone (you won’t lose connection). You can slide it open remotely and amuse your friends at the awesomeness of your iPhone!
