Bundles of Mac apps on sale

PS3′ers, Wii’ers & XBox’ers have it lucky – they’ve got lots of options here in Dubai when it comes to buying software for their platform. Every single mall has gaming stores, gaming kiosk booths and then there is the famous Al Ain Plaza when good deals must be had.

For us Mac users, it is a very different painting. iStyle is here for us and they do try with their software collection but it doesn’t do justice to the multitude of options available for the Windows platform locally. Even in my office, any software title we need our local IT department is able to find a local distributor.

But the news is not all bad. Mac users have an amazing abundance of software houses to shop from online. And right now, we’re in luck because there is a massive sale going on. There are two options I want to share today:

One Finger Discount & MacHeist nanoBundle logos

One Finger Discount & MacHeist nanoBundle

1) MacHeist – Last year’s event was amazing, with over $600 worth of titles retailing for $50 only. The next event should be coming up shortly but before we get there, the organisers have put together MacHeist nanoBundle – giving 6 apps worth $150 – for free. I myself am grabbing this offer just for WriteRoom alone. Go to their site (http://www.macheist.com/), signup and get them quickly because this offer lasts for 4 more days only!

2) One Finger Discount – In response to MacHeist’s nanoBundle, another organiser has created a 20% discount coupon that over 75 developers have agreed to honor on all their products. There are some high profile developers such as Flying Meat (creator of Acorn & Voodoo Pad), Smile On My Mac (Textpander) & MacPaw (have seen iStyle use their MacHider to “clean” their Mac desktops). Head on over to  http://www.onefingerdiscount.com/ and see the full list of developers with links to their sites.

While we can’t just walk into CarreFour and pick up any Mac software of our choice, I think the alternative here is far more powerful. We’ve got the whole world to pick from and that’s just the way we like it here in Dubai!

Would be good to know what you end up buying – share with us in comments below.

Update: Got my MacHeist nanoBundle – easy pickings!
