Hello iPhone! – introducing Oliver Jackson
Oliver Jackson | Nov 08, 2009 | Comments Comments
Firstly, let me introduce myself. I’m a professional photographer based in Dubai, specialising in commercial and industrial photography. I shoot on Canon, and work on a Mac Pro and MacBook Pro. I’ve been using Macs since 1993, when OS 7.1 was first released, and the Apple Newton was released.

The original Apple Newton, 1993. 160 Mhz of blistering raw power!
The first day I got my new iPhone 3GS I went back and had another look at the old Newton:

The iPhone 3G next to it's venerable predecessor.
Today I run my business on the iPhone 3G, not just for calls and emails, I also use Dropbox for sharing images with clients, Daybreak for checking sunrise and sunset times. I also log into the the EmiratesMac forum mobile portal several times a day, as well as a number of other applications that I use to keep in touch with friends, and follow the news.
Sometimes I get frustrated with the limitations of my iPhone, (yes, believe it or not, I’m not a fanboy!) but when I do, I try to remember just how far technology has come, and look forward to seeing what the iPhone 4G will have to offer!
(Oliver is a Dubai photographer, with an interest in all things Mac!)
