Samsung Electronics today announced that they’ll launch two new “thin and light” notebooks at GITEX Shopper. The X420 and N510 feature the latest Samsung has to offer in notebook products, with, according to Samsung, “state-of-the-art technology in a stylish design.”
Delivering up to 9 hours of power on one charge with the standard 6-cell battery, the X420 is available with Windows 7. The thin design, just 23.2 mm in depth, is also very light at 1.76kg. With 14-inch display at 16:9 aspect ration it should be a good choice for multimedia on the go. Driving the X420 is a 1.6GHz Intel Celeron processor, Intel GMA X4500 graphics, 250GB hard drive and 2GB RAM.
The N510 features an 11.6-inch LED display (1366×768 pixels), also at 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a dedicated NVIDIA ION LE graphics card that is “ten times faster than existing netbooks”, Samsung claims. In the N510 we also find integrated SRS 2.1-channel surround sound, three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port and 3-in-1 memory card reader. Inside is an Intel Atom processor running at 1.66GHz, 1GB RAM, and 160GB hard drive.
