iPhone 3GS from du first sign of Vodafone partnership?

Remember in January 2009 when it was announced that Vodafone, the international telecommunications giant, and du had signed a “Partner Market agreement” agreement? Under the agreement the two telcos would basically have access to each others markets, networks and technologies. At the time we speculated heavily that this is how du would bring iPhone to the UAE but so far we’ve seen nothing of that or anything else. Since the announcement basically it’s been pretty quiet on the du-Vodafone front.
As we know Vodafone already has experience of bringing iPhone to various countries including Egypt. And with access to Vodafone’s extensive international networks it could mean very favorable roaming deals for du customers, whether they are on iPhone or not.
So if it’s true that du is tomorrow announcing iPhone 3GS we can safely assume they’re doing so in partnership with Vodafone. If they’ve managed to integrate their systems and work out how to share their networks and resources I think we might be in for a nice surprise.
