My Apple: Increased need for full iTunes store in Middle East if tablet rumors true

It makes sense in many ways that Apple would at some point add other digital media to their iTunes store like magazines and books. And if the recent rumors are true that’s exactly what they’re working on when developing the elusive Apple tablet. I read somewhere, can’t find where now, that Steve Jobs was supposed to have said something like “what would you do with this?” when trying out a tablet some time ago. So perhaps that very purpose would be magazines and books in digital format combined with links to further information on the Internet, video, audio, animation, and more.
To me this sounds very exciting. I have a Kindle DX and I like it very much but I can’t help but thinking that Apple could do a much better job. If they are of course they would make you buy the content from the iTunes store.
That would however be a big problem for us in the Middle East as only a few countries have iTunes stores at all and then only for iPhone apps. If the tablet rumors are true users here would have to have an iTunes account in one of the countries that have a full store, like US and UK, unless Apple expands the local iTunes stores.
So as much as I’m hoping that the tablet rumors are true I also hope that Apple will hurry up and expand the full iTunes stores. It’s beyond ridiculous by now that we’re still not included.
