iChat Video coming to the iPhone?

ichat_av_iconI was just browsing through MacRumors and found an interesting post about a $99 iPhone, the specs of the $99 iPhone were revealing:

  • Quadband GSM
  • HSDPA Support
  • 2.0 MP Camera
  • 4 GB
  • Video Calling (iChat)

The moment I read Video Calling (iChat) I was like WHAT!!!!!. I rubbed my eyes thinking it was my morning blues, but that is what was written on it. According to a BoyGeniusReport, who leaked this as part of mobile operator Fido’s 2009 Product roadmap, which are I quote,

which they are “very far away from being able to confirm”

We all know how much we would love to have iChat with video calling (Apple has already demoed a iChat client here, albeit without video support) on our iPhone, that would be uber cool, but when will Apple oblige, that has been the question. There weren’t many rumors that spoke about iChat on the iPhone and none of the developers who had iPhone OS 3.0 could trace references to it so far.

I personally would love this feature, that would make the iPhone, the killer phone ever and I  will queue up at the store from the previous night to buy one.

But, is it the one more thing, at this year’s WWDC? In just a few days, we will know.
