Macworld 2009: First Geeky Girly Day at Macworld

img_37441This week has been exciting and exhausting.  This being my first Macworld and being a Geeky Girly there was so much to see and do. Although we’ve been to see many vendors there are of course many that we’ve not managed to get to. But overall I’m happy with the coverage we’ve had this week.

The one thing that I did notice about the Apple fans was that what you see is pretty much what you get.  I found many people making themselves at home and trying to take in as much as I was.  If there were no chairs for sitting, they just made themselves at home on the floor; If they needed a nap they just found a place out of the way to take their nap.

People had their backpacks ready to get as much info and products that they could fit into their bags, and they were ready to show their Apple love.

The other day I bought myself an Apple sweatshirt jacket (you can only buy them at the company store at the mothership), and I had people coming up to me asking where they could find one. They wanted to show off their Apple pride.

People were also coming up to us asking how we where doing, like they had known us forever, and we had just met them earlier in the day.  So, you could really see and feel the community that makes Apple really special.

Do, you know of another computer company where people flock to meet, and are willing to spend so much money in showing their love and support for that company?  I cannot think of another computer company that can do that.

To a non Apple fan, I am not sure you cannot really explain it, but being a part of the Apple community makes me proud. I hope I can show my love as so many others have done this week.

Appleholic for life ;) very very true.... when i was in San Fran, and decided to share my Apple pride to the city of San Fran they day after i went to the Company Apple store, i wore the sweatshirt that i bought from there... and i had people from every direction commenting on my sweat shirt or asking me where i got it... or at least noding with a very welcomeing smile... u will never see a Microsoft using dude do that to another WINDOWS user,... lol it makes us feel so special and so loved and so important... this culture is the best thing that ever happened to me...

but to be honest, i am jelouse now that a lot of people are starting to shift to Apple... it was far more special when we were the minoraty and felt that we were very different from the rest.... ooo well... we cant wish for everything, but all i wish for is Apple keeps up the Amazing job but in a bit faster past in introducing newer toys for us to show off, and tease other geeks :P

    P.S. I Love You Apple... ;)
  • I think you said it, we are proud people and we what everyone else to know it too. If Macworld Expo is to go on, they have to make sure they take care of all the Appleholics (I know that there is only one true Appleholic, but I think every Apple fan has a little Appleholic in them) :-) out there.
