Macworld 2009: Possible Tweetup

Today we took the day off and toured some of the areas around San Francisco. When we came back to the hotel this evening the lobby was packed with people seemingly checking in. When I opened my MacBook in our room a lot it appears many new Wi-Fi networks have sprung up. Unfortunately we’re still having problems with our Airport Express so we may get a new one. Earlier this morning I was software unlocking my iPhone 3G. It seems okay so far.

One funny thing that happened was that I saw a tweet (Twitter post) coming across my screen, which said “Would anyone hypothetically be interested in a Sunday evening Tweetup at the Marriott? Trying to gauge interest/work details.”

It was by Andy Ihnatko, a famous writer on most things Apple, who apparently arrived to San Francisco today and stays at the same hotel as us. I tweeted back that we’re open for anything tomorrow so we’ll see what happens.

If anyone else reading this want to arrange or join in a tweetup, just let us know the details and we’ll try our best to make it there (I’m “mnystedt” on Twitter).

Tomorrow we’ll visit the main Apple Store here in San Francisco. Crystal needs her MacBook Air looked at and we’re also buying a few things. Then we may go see a few things around the city or just try to take it easy because it’s going to be a hectic week. Monday the plan is we head back to Apple’s campus so we can go in to the Apple Store there. It’s the only one that sells Apple apparel (shirts, hats, etc) so we’ll try to stock up on some of that. Monday we’ll also go pick up our media badges for Macworld so we’ll go to the Moscone center then for sure, if not tomorrow.

قررنا ان يكون اليوم راحة لنا، لذا قمنا بزيارة بعض الأماكن فى انحاء “سان فرانسيسكو” و عندما عدنا الى الفندق فى المساء وجدنا الكثير من الناس فى البهو اغلب الظن إنتظاراً لإستلام غرفهم. عندما فتحت حاسب “ماكبوك” فى الغرفة ظهرت العديد من شبكات “واي فاي” الجديدة. للأسف لدينا بعض المشاكل فى وحدة ” ايبورت اكسبريس” لذا ربما نشترى حاسب جديد، اما فى الصباح كنت اقوم بإعادة فتح إغلاق” سوفت وير” لهاتف ايفون “ثري جي” الخاص بى ويبدو انه يعمل جيداً حتى الان.

أمر غريب حدث عندما كنت أرى رسائل ” برنامج تويتر” التى تظهر على الشاشة اذ وجدت رسالة كتب فيها ” هل هناك احداً مهتم فرضاً بمحادثة مساء الاحد فى فندق ماريوت؟ احاول تحديد مدى الاهتمام و و بعض تفاصيل العمل”.

الشخص هو ” اندي ايناتكو” الكاتب الشهير الذى يكتب عن معظم منتجات أبل، و أعتقد انه وصل إلى “سان فرانسيسكو” اليوم و يقيم فى نفس الفندق الذى نقيم فيه، لذا قمت بالرد عليه بإننا نستطيع القيام بذلك غداً، و لنرى ماذا سيحدث.

غداً سوف نذهب إلى زيارة متجر أبل الرئيسي فى “سان فرانسيسكو” ، كريستال تحتاج الى فحص حاسب ماكبوك اير الخاص بها كما نريد شراء بعض الأغراض. بعدها ربما سوف نذهب إلى زيارة بعض الاماكن فى ارجاء المدينة او سوف نسلم للراحة لأن هناك الكثير فى انتظارنا خلال الاسبوع القادم. يوم الاثنين سوف نذهب إلى مقز أبل فى الجامعة مرة اخرى لكى نزور متجر أبل هناك إذ يبدو انه الوحيد الذى يبيع قمصان و قبعات أبل، كما يجب ان نذهب ايضاً الى مركز ” ماسكون” لإحضار التصاريح الإعلامية لمعرض ماك ورلد.ب
