Macworld 2009: Keynote or no Keynote?

As you know Steve Jobs is not doing Apple’s keynote address at this Macworld Expo, which I admit was a major bummer to our plans when we found out. Of course we looked forward to the small chance that we’d get to see his Stevieness in person doing his show. When I got my media registration in late November it said in the confirmation email that the badge did not give me keynote access, I’d have to buy one of the expo and conference packages that includes the keynote and the cheapest is $295.

So I was going to do that but then then Apple told everyone he’s not doing it. I changed my mind and wasn’t going to bother with the keynote then.

Then Crystal got her media badge just a week or so ago and it says in her confirmation that she will get keynote access. What? Well, I guess we’ll find out tomorrow what the deal is when we go pick up the badges but my guess is that they got less interest after Apple announced Stevio wouldn’t do the keynote and that I have keynote access too now.

But that still means we have to queue up very early Tuesday morning if we want to get in and it’s pretty cold here in San Francisco, at least compared to Dubai. But we’ll do our best for our Shufflegazine readers.

كما تعلمون أن ” ستيف جوبز” لن يقدم عرض “كينوت” فى معرض “ماك ورلد”، و أعترف ذلك الأمر  أحبط بعض خططنا عندما علمنا به، بطبيعة الحال كنا نتطلع إلى فرصة بسيطة لرؤية ،” ستيف” شخصياً و هو يقدم عرض “كينوت”. عندما حصلت على التصريح الإعلامي الخاص بى فى آواخر شهر نوفمبر كان قد كتب فى البريد الاليكترونى الذى جاء أرسل لى من أجل التأكيد ان هذا التصريح لا يخول لحاملة حضور عرض ” كينوت و بأنه يتوجب على ان أشترى تصريح الدخول من المعرض لحضور عرض ” كينوت” و أرخص الأسعار هو 295 دولار.

و كنت على وشك ان أقوم بذلك إلا ان أبل اعلنت للجميع ان ” ستيف” لن يقدم العرض مما جعلنى اغير رأيي و لم اعد اكترث بالعرض.

بعدها حصلت “كريستال” على تصريحها الإعلامى قبل اسبوع او اقل و قد ورد فى بريد التأكيد ان التصريح يخول لها حضور عرض “كينوت” مما اثار دهشتى! على كل حال الأمر سيتضح غداً عندما اذهب للحصول على التصريح و لكن حدثى  ينبأنى ان المعرض فقد الكثير من الإهتمام بعد الإعلان عن عدم تقديم “ستيف” للكينوت” و بأنهم سيعطون الجميع تصاريح الدخول للجميع ايضاً.

و لكن هذا يعنى بأننا يجب ان نقف فى الطابور منذ الصباح الباكر يوم الثلاثاء اذا ما أردنا الدخول و الجو بارد هنا فى ” سان فرانسيسكو” على الاقل مقارنة بدبي و لكننا سوف نبذل قصارى جهدنا من اجل قراء “شفل جازين ” الأعزاء.
