New MacBook Finally Being Distributed in Saudi Arabia

SaudiMac reports that Arab Computers, Apple Authorized Distributor in Saudi Arabia, finally have the new MacBooks available in the Kingdom. Arab Computer’s web site gives the price information. The new MacBook will cost 6200SR for the 2.0GHz model and you will have to pay 7100SR for the 2.4GHz model. There is apparently no information about the availability of SSD (solid state) drive or what the price for that would be.

Its Cheap in india, I tought middle east is supporsed to be cheap when we are bying any notebook, but why is it same although no tax here ?
In the UAE there is 5% import duty, sort of like a tax, I guess. But the main reason, at least if you listen to ABM (Arab Business Machines), the Apple distributor in the Middle East, is that they buy their stuff from Apple Europe.
We do have the %5 custom duty here in Saudi Arabia as well. It’s unified between the GCC.
