My iPhone 3G that has previously stubbornly refused to do any 3G is now showing 3G and downloading at around 1Mbps. It’s a mystery unless Etisalat just changed something.

My iPhone 3G, unlocked with SIM card attachment, yesterday decided to start showing “3G” for the first time. Some quick testing reveals that I get around 1Mbps now and the whole online experience has changes.
I’ve used other iPhones with working 3G but what made my iPhone start working now is a mystery to me. Now I need to up my data plan to take advantage of this.
